Lauren Babchuk is a litigation and jury consultant at ThemeVision LLC with nearly a decade of experience in jury decision-making research, experimental methodology and advanced statistical analyses. Ms. Babchuk has conducted mock jury trials, focus groups and other jury research in venues across the country. In court, she has assisted with jury selection as well as advised attorneys on theme development and global trial strategy. She also has experience with case valuation, graphic design consulting and witness preparation.

Ms. Babchuk has consulted on a variety of cases, including intellectual property, wrongful death, product liability, environmental, personal injury and constitutional law. Drawing on her experience formulating innovative strategies and solutions, she integrates both quantitative and qualitative data to achieve success for clients.

Prior to joining ThemeVision, Ms. Babchuk worked at a litigation consulting firm in Chicago. She earned her B.A. in psychology, summa cum laude, from Miami University (Ohio), along with a minor in marketing. In her graduate studies, Ms. Babchuk’s research focused on small-group dynamics, moral reasoning, attribution of blame and legal decision-making, such as how moral framing influences compensatory and punitive damage awards. She received rigorous training on experimental design and achieved further proficiency in advanced statistics. Ms. Babchuk has taken a number of law courses for subjects such as advanced courtroom communication, the law of jury selection, and the psychology of crime, culpability and punishment.

A published author and speaker, Ms. Babchuk is enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge with others. She has co-authored a chapter re-examining the insanity defense from a psycholegal perspective for a book titled “Criminal Psychology”. Ms. Babchuk also has developed continuing legal education courses pertaining to jury selection, voir dire and effective courtroom communication and presented on topics such as juror hindsight bias and attitude assessment.
