On August 26, 2008, IndyStar*Com’s Star Business Mid-Day Update reported on a Lake County judge who ordered a man to stand in front of the courthouse and wear a sign that read, "I failed to appear for jury duty."  The article referenced a recent IndianaView’s survey of Indiana residents’ attitudes toward jury duty, which found that most (55%) Indiana residents say that if they received a summons for jury duty they would "be pleased to fulfill this civic responsibility."  The article quotes Dr. Dennis Stolle, trial consultant and president of ThemeVision, as saying that Indiana state courts need to increase juror show-rates by reinforcing Hoosiers’ "positive views" of jury duty.

A printable summary of the results of the IndianaViews survey on attitudes toward jury duty is available for download by clicking on the link below.  IndianaViews surveys are conducted jointly by ThemeVision LLC and JEM Research.
