Asbestos Exposure Lawsuit

Experience

We conducted a large-sample online mock juror survey to assist our client in defending a product liability case involving asbestos exposure. Our client was a well-known manufacturer of auto parts and the plaintiff had worked for many years in an automotive garage. Mock jurors were strategically sampled from several different jurisdictions, read a written summary of the case, and viewed images of the product labels. Several different versions of the case summary were employed to systematically investigate the impact of adopting different potential themes at trial (e.g., focusing on lack of causation v. focusing on the adequacy of the product labels). Statistical analyses were used to answer this question, determine if views about the case differed by jurisdiction, and identify a profile of the pro-plaintiff juror.
