Themevision conducted a two-phase research study to aid our client in defending a product liability claim involving exposure to asbestos. The plaintiff had worked for many years in a naval shipyard and contracted mesothelioma. We first developed and administered a large-sample online survey of mock jurors to residents of the state. Statistical analyses provided an overall assessment of our client’s case and a profile of the “unfavorable” juror for use during juror selection. We followed this up by conducting an in-person ThemeTesting focus group study within the trial jurisdiction to develop and assess potential case themes. Ultimately, the case did go to trial and yielded a defense verdict for our client.
